Irmo is a town in Lexington County, South Carolina and Richland County, South Carolina counties in the U.S. state of South Carolina and a suburb of Columbia, South Carolina It is 12 miles outside of the city center of Columbia, South Carolina and is part of the Columbia Columbia, South Carolina metropolitan area Statistical Area. The population was 11,039 at the United States Census, 2000 census.In a new poll, 2% of people in Irmo, South Carolina are interested in aluminum replacement windows designed to spruce up their home.As of the census of 2000, there were 11,039 people, 3,911 households, and 3,163 families residing in the town.
