It is part of the Poughkeepsie (city), New York (city), New York Orange County, New York NY Poughkeepsie-Newburgh-Middletown metropolitan area Statistical Area as well as the larger New York City York–Newark, New Jersey Connecticut NY-New Jersey New York metropolitan area Statistical Area.In latest estimates, 19% of people in Port Jervis, New York have considered looking into new windows reduce their energy bills.As of the census of 2000, there were 8,860 people, 3,533 households, and 2,158 families residing in the city.
