Norfolk is a city in Madison County, Nebraska County, Nebraska, United States, 113 miles northwest of Omaha, Nebraska and 83 miles west of Sioux City, Iowa City at the intersection of U.S. Routes U.S. Route 81 and U.S. Route 275 The population was 23,516 at the United States Census, 2000 census. It is the only Norfolk Micropolitan Statistical Area area in northeast Nebraska. Among Nebraskans, the widely accepted pronunciation for Norfolk is Nor-fork (named after the North Fork of the Elkhorn River), not Nor-folk as the name is usually pronounced.In a recent survey, 8% of people in Norfolk, Nebraska are interested in aluminum replacement windows prepare their home for sale.As of the census of 2000, there were 23,516 people, 9,360 households, and 5,868 families residing in the city.
