Stanton is a city in the U.S. state of Michigan. As of the United States Census, 2000 census, the city population was 1,504. It is the county seat of Montcalm County, Michigan County . It is located at the corners of four townships and incorporates land from each: Day Township, Michigan Township to the northeast, Evergreen Township, Montcalm County, Michigan Township to the southeast, Sidney Township, Michigan Township to the southwest, and Douglass Township, Michigan Township to the northwest.In most recent evaluations, 4% of people in Stanton, Michigan have friends checking out new windows made to reduce their energy bills.As of the census of 2000, there were 1,504 people, 555 households, and 362 families residing in the city. The population density was 701.6 per square mile (271.4/km²). There were 609 housing units at an average density of 284.1/sq mi (109.9/km²). The racial makeup of the city was 95.94% White (U.S. Census) 0.20% African American (U.S. Census) American, 0.40% Native American (U.S. Census) American, 0.27% Asian (U.S. Census) 1.13% from Race (United States Census) races, and 2.06% from two or more races.
