The Town of Palmer is a city in Hampden County, Massachusetts County, Massachusetts, United States. The population was 12,497 at the 2000 census. It is part of the Springfield, Massachusetts Springfield, Massachusetts metropolitan area Statistical Area. Although known as a town, Palmer adopted a home rule charter in 2004 with a council-manager form of government and is considered a city under Massachusetts law.In current analysis, 8% of people in Palmer, Massachusetts have friends checking out new windows reduce their energy bills.As of the census of 2000, there were 12,497 people, 5,078 households, and 3,331 families residing in the town.
