Towson is an unincorporated area community and a census-designated place in Baltimore County, Maryland County, Maryland, United States. The population was 51,793 at the 2000 census. It is the county seat of Baltimore County, Maryland County and the second-most populated unincorporated area county seat in the United States (after Ellicott City, Maryland).
