Mystic is a census-designated place (CDP) in New London County, Connecticut London County, Connecticut, in the United States. The population was 4,001 at the 2000 census. Mystic is a historic town, though today it has no independent government. It is not a legally recognized municipality within the state of Connecticut. Rather, Mystic is located within the Connecticut towns of Groton, Connecticut (west of the Mystic River) and Stonington, Connecticut (east of the Mystic River). Other nearby historic villages without local independent government include Old Mystic, Noank, and Wequetequock.In a recent survey, 7% of people in Mystic, Connecticut want more information about vinyl replacement windows designed to reduce their energy bills.As of the census of 2000, there were 4,001 people, 1,797 households, and 995 families residing in the CDP.
