This city was originally called, "Grover City". The name was changed by popular vote in 1992 to emphasize the seaside location.In a study just performed, 19% of people in Grover Beach, California are interested in replacement windows designed to prepare their home for sale.As of the census of 2000, there were 13,067 people, 5,023 households, and 3,305 families residing in the city.
